GFC Software Product Upgrades

Patch files are available to upgrade from older versions of some of our products without having to download the complete new package. Applying the appropriate patch will update the software to the current version. You will need the patch program (49k) and the appropriate patch file (below).

General instructions for using the patch program are included with it, and are available online, and instructions specific to updating each individual application are included with the patch file.

MR-8100 Programmer (PSCAN)

   Current version: 0.9.3

You will need the patch program and the appropriate patch file:

NOTE: Version 0.9.3 has so many enhancments that it requires a complete re-installation. You CANNOT upgrade by patching. To ensure the best operation, do the following to remove the outdated version and install the current version:

  1. Backup any data files (*.FRQ, etc.) in the directory in which you installed PSCAN,or move them to a different directory. WARNING: Removing the existing PSCAN installation will remove these files unless they are moved or backed up!
  2. Make a note of your registration name and number. It was sent to you when you registered PSCAN, and is contained in the PSCAN.INI file (in the [General] section). You will need these when you install the new version. An easy way to backup your registration information is to just make a backup copy of your PSCAN.INI file (located in the Windows directory). IMPORTANT: Do NOT restore that backup copy after performing the installation; just use it to re-enter your registration name and number!
  3. We suggest you make a backup of your PSCAN directory, "just in case."
  4. Click on the "Uninstall MR-8100 Programmer" icon to remove the existing installation of PSCAN.
  5. Install the new version. Do NOT restore the old version of PSCAN.INI.
  6. Re-enter your registration name and number.
